Material-Matched Technique — Every Time

A fence is one of the most visible exterior features of a property — and one of the most neglected when it comes to cleaning. Fences take constant exposure: UV degradation, ground-level splashback, algae growth from soil moisture, mold on shaded sections, and surface oxidation on vinyl and painted wood. Over time, what was once a clean boundary line becomes a dull, stained, or green-streaked eyesore.

Different fence materials require fundamentally different cleaning approaches, and using the wrong technique causes damage. Vinyl and PVC fencing should never be hit with high pressure — it warps surface texture, drives water into post holes, and can crack panels on older installations. We use soft washing for vinyl: low-pressure water combined with cleaning solution that lifts oxidation film and kills algae without mechanical risk.

Unpainted wood fences — cedar, pine, pressure-treated — can handle more direct pressure, but the grain direction and age of the wood determines the right PSI. Over-pressuring wood raises the grain, creates fuzzing, and can drive water into end grain cuts that then accelerate rot.

Metal and chain-link fencing often develops rust staining. We pre-treat rust staining before cleaning and can significantly reduce surface oxidation. For fences being refinished or repainted, a thorough cleaning is the critical first step.
